Welcome to Symposium
This is my encomium.

So I was really bored today and decided to read again one of my favorite books: Orwell’s 1984. There I was, in my bed, reading 1984 with my iTunes put on shuffle, when suddenly it started to play Kissin’ You by Miranda Cosgrove. See, the only reason why I have that song is because.. well that’s actually a pretty long story.

Once upon a time there was this person who used to mock me for watching Disney’s Channel, though honestly I didn’t really see a reason not to do it (except that Disney was an out-spoken anti-Semite, but I didnt think it was depicted in their programs). So anyway, for some reason that probably doesn’t have anything to do with him, I kept watching Disney’s. It was one of a very few things I watched on TV, considering that I don’t watch TV that much, except for South Park, The Daily Show, Family Guy, and of course the news (a house rule)

One summer, they were airing this music commercial which, yes, featured Miranda Cosgrove (who is a Disney star) all the time. I mean, ALL THE TIME. Between breaks, programs, basically at ANYTIME they wanted. At first, I hated that song. I really did. But then after about 3 weeks of tremendous amount of brainwashing, I started to like it. Okay, I downloaded it, put it on my iPod, and started to sing along to it when my iPod played the song on my commute to school or anytime it did. I.. well, loved it. Somehow it reminded me of the person who used to mock me. Everytime I sang to it, I felt like he was next to me, laughing. At me.

And I think I havent heard the song since last summer, until it popped today. When it did, I flipped… and… did a little crazy, out-of-tune, totally embarrassing karaoke using my cellphone as a microphone and the Garage Band.

Well here it is
